Ethiopia Airport

We landed in Ethiopia on our way to Victoria Falls. We stayed in the airport hotel in a secured area. We did not have the right vaccines and the area outside was dangerous. The hotel was very nice but I could hear flight announcements all night. I took a picture from the restaurant above the floor. There were hundreds of young women wearing white scarves and aprons. I asked the waiter, and he was proud to say these women were leaving the country to work set up by the government.

In the morning, walked throughout the floor area. We were really an anomaly as we were white! I had a great conversation with a banker from the Congo 🇨🇬. The planes are sprayed before landing to decontaminate from bugs etc.

From the Safari-Not a big bug fan. Saw a bettle as large as my hand on its back, kicking many legs. Let’s just say, I did not help it by flipping it over. Large spider in my shower. Had to call someone to get it. Oh well…

Off to Victoria Falls. Chris and Lisa traveled home after the Safari leaving from Ethiopia. They had a night in Capetown, then through London and back to San Francisco. Jim, Bob, Jolene and I headed to Victoria Falls.
